A rough day for Teemu Asunmaa in ERC Estonia - "TV Spot is guaranteed"

Teemu Asunmaa and co-driver Ville Mannisenmäki are 12th overall after two competitive days in the Delfi Rally Estonia. Asunmaa’s event got off to a difficult start as the Skoda-driver hit an anti-cut device on the qualifying stage, which resulted in a puncture. 16th fastest time meant that Asunmaa was the first car on the road on Saturday.
-We knew that the sweeper position in long events like this is difficult. All we could do was to try to set up the car accordingly and try our best. It’s quite hard to keep the fighting spirit alive knowing that the conditions are too difficult to be able to fight, Asunmaa lamented.
-The good news is that tomorrow we are not the first car on the road, Asunmaa added.
Asunmaa is running twelfth overall and thus grants the road sweeper position to a fellow competitor. The Pirelli driver sees a silver lining in the otherwise difficult Saturday.
-It’s nice to be the first car on the road in a big event like this, the TV spot is guaranteed and it is special in its own weird way. We also learned some new things about the car today. This isa good experience, so we’ll take it, Asunmaa said.
Delfi Rally Estonia concludes tomorrow with four special stages still to run.
